Oddo focused on Club Italia

Massimo Oddo says he won’t be thinking about his club future until the World Cup Finals have come to an end.

The Lazio defender has been heavily associated with a move to Milan, but the stopper is just focusing on Germany 2006 for now.

“Myself and [President Claudio] Lotito have agreed that we would only discuss the future at the end of the tournament,” he said from Italy’s training base today.

Oddo is eager to make an impression with the Azzurri this summer after a fantastic campaign in the capital last term.

And he’s in contention to start against Ghana on Monday given that Gianluca Zambrotta has been ruled out of the opener with injury.

“We are tranquil, serene and concentrated on the objective ahead,” continued the former Verona man. “We’re convinced that we can do well.

Italy have been drawn in the tough-looking Group E along with the Africans, USA and the Czech Republic, but Oddo is remaining optimistic.

“We are expecting a tough time seeing as the group is difficult, but there are a lot of factors which can decide the outcome of matches,” he concluded.
