多哥国脚阿德巴约今天正式从摩纳哥转会到阿森纳，并同枪手签署了一份长期合同，合同的金额并未透露。

前锋阿德巴约今年21岁，曾在2006年世界杯非洲区预选赛中打进11个球，帮助多哥拿到了世界杯的入场券，这也是这个国家历史上的第一次。

主教练温格说：“阿德巴约对我们的队伍是一个伟大的补充。他的实力已经在摩纳哥和多哥的表现中得到了展现。他有高度，有很好的空中优势，位置感和跑位也很好，我们期待着他从非洲国家杯的归来。”

Arsenal have signed their second player in 24 hours after landing Monaco's Emmanuel Adebayor.

Arsene Wenger has moved quickly to seal Adebayor's signature as he is set link-up with his national side Togo for the forthcoming African Cup of Nations.

Adebayor became available after a public falling out with Monaco earlier this week and now he has sealed a move to Highbury.

Arsenal are understood to have fended off a number of Premiership rivals to land the 21-year-old - who will not be making his Arsenal debut until next month due to the ACN in Egypt.

The signing of Adebayor comes just hours after Arsenal unveiled Vassiriki Diaby - whom they bought from another Ligue 1 outfit, Auxerre

Arsenal have signed Togo international striker Emmanuel Adebayor from Monaco.

The gangly but skilful 21-year-old forward becomes Arsenal's second capture in the current transfer window after Arsene Wenger also completed the signing of Vasiriki Abou Diaby today.

The Gunners will pay an undisclosed fee to the Principality club after signing the African on a "long-term contract".

Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor has today signed for Arsenal from AS Monaco on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee.

Striker Adebayor (21), was the top scorer in the entire African Zone in the 2006 World Cup Qualifiers with 11 goals, helping Togo reach the World Cup Finals for the first time in the country's history.

Emmanuel has been a regular in the AS Monaco team over the past three seasons and was part of the squad which came runners-up in the 2004 UEFA Champions League. Before joining AS Monaco, Adebayor spent two seasons at French side Metz, where he made his first team debut for the club in Ligue 1 at the tender age of 17.

Manager Arsène Wenger said: "Emmanuel Adebayor is a great addition to our squad. He has shown in his performances with Monaco and Togo that he will add great quality to our offensive game. He is tall, good in the air and makes good runs. We are looking forward to him joining the squad when he returns from the African Nations Cup."

Emmanuel Adebayor said: "This is a great day for me. I am joining Arsenal, one of Europe's leading teams, with a squad containing so many great players. I am looking forward to working very hard for the team and I hope I can give the Arsenal fans a lot of enjoyment in the future."

Emmanuel is a member of the Togo squad for the forthcoming African Nations Cup in Egypt and will therefore join up with his new team mates after his participation in this competition. He will wear the Arsenal number 25 shirt.
